Breinton Biodiversity Action Plan

Breinton Parish Council will be holding a Public Meeting on the 16th January 2026 at 7pm at Breinton Village Hall.

Please join us for an illustrated talk by ecologist Will Watson on the Biodiversity of Breinton with reference to traditional orchards.

A discussion on the threats and enhancements of Parish biodiversity, including proposed infrastructure and scope for biodiversity net gain will follow this

From this meeting we want to:

  • introduce the key stakeholders, including the owners of priority habitats in the Parish, including the National Trust, the Wildlife Trust, the Woodland Trust, Hereford Cider Museum Trust, landowners, parish residents and residents of Hereford City.
  • form of a BAP working group,
  • seek professional guidance,
  • encourage volunteers to join,
  • understand the value of the natural assets in the Parish,
  • outline the work for residents, including surveys of plants and fungi, birds, mammals and amphibians, invertebrates and fish. Planting trees, hedges, maintaining the drovers’ ponds, pollinator and bat surveys.
