On Sunday 12 February 2023 Breinton Parish Council organised 75 trees to be planted as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy to mark the Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Cllr Liz Morawiecka and Cllr Lorraine Lewis, together with volunteers, planted the trees along the Green Lane Bridleway as an avenue with alternating oak and beech trees.
A natural line was kept with the few remaining historic oak trees along the route.
Alder trees were also planted near the wetter parts and around a large bramble patch.
Many local families out walking who were delighted to see the tree planting taking place. Many children were very interested to be involved in future tree planting and steps to improve the environment.
The trees planted have been onto the Queen’s Green Canopy website.
