There have been concerns about vehicles speeding along Breinton’s narrow lanes for a long time. This became very clear in all the consultations carried out for the Neighbourhood Development Plan.
Unfortunately Neighbourhood Plans are not designed to tackle this kind of highways issue. However; parish councillors have been looking at ways to get the current 60mph limit reduced. This could be achieved through what is known as a rural speed zone.
The Parish Council has asked Herefordshire Council – who are the highways authority – to create a zone. A full case has been prepared, justifying our request and this is attached here.
